Susan Lockleer
Susan is the mother of two teenage boys and
one 21 year old daughter.
She has been flyfishing for many
years and enjoys hunting, camping and just about anything in the
outdoors. Working at Children's Hospital in Seattle keeps her pretty
busy, but she still finds time for her large gardens and backyard
pond. She expresses her artistic talents making (fusing) glass plates
and bowls.
Susan was the owner (along with
her husband Sandy) of Creekside Flyfishing Shop in Salem Oregon
for 3 years. During that time she worked full time in the shop,
being one of the only woman run flyshops in the Northwest (maybe
the only one.) She is an expert fly tyer - she was asked to be one
of the fly tying judges at the Oregon State Fair (along with John
Shewey and Forrest Maxwell.) Her eye for color, and skills with
dyeing fly tying materials were world famous. Her custom feathers
were prized by many of the top fly tiers.
